In this chapter we elaborate on the role of the body in autoethnographic research. We suggest that recognizing the myriad ways in which our fleshy bodies play a part in the practice of autoethnographic research, allow us to advance current methodological debates. We lean on autoethnographic fieldworks that we, as culturally oriented business and tourism scholars, have conducted. In particular, we exemplify how the recognition of the sleeping body and the affective body helps us to respond to challenges related to the study of messy, unstable, ephemeral, and ubiquitous research phenomena. We conclude by discussing the opportunities of an increased body-reflexivity in autoethnographic research process.
